From 24 to 25 July, in the village of Nikola, Irkutsk Region, on the basis of the Baikal search and rescue squad, a regional salon-exhibition of security means "Security of Siberia 2008" is being held.

The purpose of the exhibition is to familiarize representatives of government bodies of various levels, the leadership of the EMERCOM of Russia with modern fire-fighting and rescue equipment, new technologies in rescue operations and fire fighting, equipment, communication systems, methods of training and education of rescuers.

The organizers of the salon-exhibition are the Siberian Regional Center for Civil Defense, Emergencies and Elimination of the Consequences of Natural Disasters, the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Irkutsk Region, and the Baikal Rescue Team.

Representatives of the administrations of the subjects of the Siberian Federal District, heads of rescue teams, scientific institutions, enterprises and organizations engaged in the production of rescue, fire-fighting equipment and gear, special clothing and equipment are invited to participate in the exhibition.
